Charles
S. ("Chuck") Gara is principal of GARA COMMERCIAL, a full service real estate
firm located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Gara has more than twenty-four years of real
estate experience with over fourteen of those years in the Albuquerque market. Gara has
been involved in real estate transactions valued in excess of $180 Million Dollars. Gara
has extensive experience in the sale, leasing, management, financing, development and
syndication of real property. Responsibilities on prior transactions and consulting
engagements have included financial analysis, structuring and negotiating acquisitions and
dispositions, development and construction management, leasing, and facilities management
of high quality real estate for clients.
GARA COMMERCIAL has
specialized in assisting corporate America with its real estate needs in the New Mexico
market. Assignments have included disposition of 9,200 acres in Northern New Mexico on
behalf of Merrill Lynch, the disposition of multiple assets for U S WEST, including 75,000
square feet of Class A office space in downtown Albuquerque, acquisition of over 20,000
square feet of Class A office space for U S WEST Dex, acquisition of office space for Bank
of America, Xerox, CIGNA Insurance and many other corporate clients. A very recent
transaction involved the sale of 110 acres to Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. for the construction
of a 700,000 square foot food distribution center.
GARA COMMERCIAL is actively
marketing Los Morros Business Park in Los Lunas, New Mexico, home of Wal-Marts
700,000 square foot food distribution center. Developed by Huning Ltd. Partnership, Los
Morros Business Park is a 500 acre business park located just fifteen minutes south of
Albuquerque International Airport along I-25.
In addition to Garas
real estate activities, Gara is a member of the City of Albuquerque Environmental Planning
Commission and is Vice-Chairman of the newly formed Extraterritorial Land Use Commission
that oversees platting, planning and zoning in the five mile extraterritorial zone
surrounding Albuquerque. Gara was the charter president of the Rotary Club of Albuquerque
Del Norte and chairman of the Steering Committee for the NIKE New Mexico Charity Classic
that sponsored the NIKE TOUR golf tournament for two years. Gara was also president of the
board of directors of Casa Esperanza, a home away from home for New Mexico cancer patients
in Albuquerque for treatment.
